Quick Quotes: Ibarionex Perello

Ibarionex Perello, during one of his recent Candid Frame interviews, said, almost offhandedly:

"Living a photographic life doesn't necessarily mean going into business as a photographer."

Like my last post regarding what Brooks Jensen had to say about procrastination, it felt like this was being said directly to me. I suspect it has significant meaning for many whose passion is photography.

Like a previous post which touched upon seeing the world as a series of photographs, and I used to consciously think to myself as images would pass "that would make a great picture." I think some create images in the mind, as vivid, or striped away of color, and mounted in the mind, like a a fine photograph. But to make it a business is a conundrum. There is an element of love and devotion to art that to sell it seems an act of prostitution.
