Quick Quotes: David DuChemin

"Remember that technical perfection rarely moves the soul."

David DuChemin

A quote today from David DuChemin's new Lightroom book (which I have reviewed in a prior post). Not that DuChemin is eschewing technical excellence....in fact just the opposite is true. The quote, when taken in context, refers to the fact that technical excellence alone is not enough to allow an image to elicit a meaningful response.

Howard, picked up DuChemin's book off Barnes & Noble's shelf on your good word (would not have done that, BTW, as such books rarely hold my interest; in the way you mentioned in your earlier piece). Well, you were spot on! Truly wonderful book, with many, many insights into the "art" of why we move/change all those pixels ;-) Thanks for the recommendation!

Hi Andy. Glad you liked it. You are also lucky to have a Barnes and Noble to stroll through as ours has closed down.
